Weekend of June 17th   2 comments

Happy Summer Solstice weekend!!! The one weekend with the the most amount of daylight all year. Officially occurring on Tuesday June 21st at 12:15pm EST, we enjoy nearly 15 hours from sun up to sun down, use every minute wisely (and compare that to 9.5 hours daylight during the Winter Solstice). So much daylight for activities!

Brendan, whats the BEAT of the WEEK?

“The summer solstice occurs exactly when the Earth’s axial tilt is most inclined towards the sun at its maximum of 23° 26′. Though the summer solstice is an instant in time, the term is also colloquially used like Midsummer to refer to the day on which it occurs. Except in the polar regions, the day on which the summer solstice occurs is the day of the year with the longest period of daylight. Thus the seasonal significance of the Summer solstice is in the reversal of the gradual shortening of nights and lengthening of days.”

Cheers to Granddad, ESK

This is about as far North as the sun will set this summer, it starts back south Tues.

  1. This week’s beat is from a great new band called “Givers”

Here’s their first single which probably won’t be played at the P this weekend but is definitely worth bumpin on the beach

  2. I AM ABSOLUTELY IN for wakeboarding saturday morning! or sunday morning. or both. Tommy, 215 595 7290, so there’s no confusion this weekend. Also, where is softball, and can I play? I have a hot pink mit!
