Fourth of July Weekend 2011   4 comments

Fourth of July!!! The day when the world declared we will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We are going to live on, we are going to survive. Today we are going to celebrate our INDEPENDENCE DAY! Thank you Bill Pullman for those words, click for full speech.

Other than defeating aliens, Independence Day also commemorates the day the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence declaring independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain 235 years ago. Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness

” Okay guys, one more thing, this summer when you’re being inundated with all this American bicentennial Fourth Of July brouhaha, don’t forget what you’re celebrating, and that’s the fact that a bunch of slave-owning, aristocratic, white males didn’t want to pay their taxes.” – Ms. Ginny Stroud, Dazed and Confused

“In astronomical terminology, the new moon is the lunar phase that occurs when the Moon, in its monthly orbital motion around Earth, lies between Earth and the Sun, and is therefore in conjunction with the Sun as seen from Earth. At this time, the dark portion of the Moon faces almost directly toward Earth, so that the Moon is not visible to the naked eye.”

Phils: Thursday -vs- Red Sox 1:05pm; Fri, Sat, Sun, at Blue Jays all 1:07pm start

See you on the beach, ESK

  1. Don’t Forget the OLYMPICS son…

  2. My favorite part of Tommys Youtube video had to be the embedded ad “Single & over 40? Mature adults click here”.

  3. Watch the video again and pretend there isn’t a steering wheel in front of Tom . . . . his hand-motions look a lot funnier.

  4. Glad to see the moon shot did NOT make the video. No one needs to see that. 😉 And I think it should be documented that I successfully gained a point – now I’m only down to Avalon by 1!
